Volleyball Recap: St. Johnsbury Academy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with South Burlington + How To Watch

St. Johnsbury Academy faced South Burlington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 3-2. The Hilltoppers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, St. Johnsbury Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-10.

Sydney Schoenbeck paced St. Johnsbury Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Schoenbeck got some help from Katherine Sanoussy and her 13 assists. Macey Griffiths controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Sam Bradley was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 17 digs and one assist. Those 17 digs gave her a new career-high.

St. Johnsbury Academy is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11. As for South Burlington, they moved to 3-10 with that win, which also ended their eight-match losing streak.
