Softball Recap: Northern Bedford County Has No Trouble Against Williamsburg

Northern Bedford County barely beat Williamsburg the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Blue Pirates 36-14 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Blue Pirates: they've now won four in a row.

Kaylee Ebersole was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Ava Helsel was another key player, going 3-for-6 with three stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI.

Northern Bedford County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Northern Bedford County pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Williamsburg, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coming up, Northern Bedford County will venture away from home to challenge Mount Union at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Williamsburg, they will host West Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Blue Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
