Volleyball Recap: Streamwood Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with South Elgin

Streamwood faced South Elgin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Sabres fell just short of the Storm by a score of 2-1. The Sabres were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Alexander Paz paced Streamwood's offense, picking up eight kills. Paz got some help from John Garcia and his 20 assists. Heewon Yang controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Streamwood moved to 3-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for South Elgin, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Streamwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Bartlett on the 29th. As for South Elgin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Larkin on the 29th.
