Softball Recap: Goodland Cowboys vs. Russell Broncos        
        
		
            
 Goodland scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by  a  17-5 margin over the Russell Broncos. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  win of the season.
  Allison Cure made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Cure has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than six  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Cure was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Emily Hoppe, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Phoebe Nachtigall, who  went 2-for-4 with four  RBI, a  run,  and a  double.
 The  victory  made it two in a row for Goodland and  bumps their season record up to 3-6. As for Russell, their loss was  their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 0-5.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goodland will  take on Thomas More Prep-Marian at 3:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Russell, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Ellinwood on Friday.
