Softball Recap: Akins Comes Up Short

Akins lost against Lake Travis back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 11-2. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hailey Rae Ramos was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Angela Vasquez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Akins' loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Lake Travis, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-9-1 record this season.

Akins will be playing at home against Del Valle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Travis, they will square off against Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cavaliers are facing the Maroons at the right time seeing as the Maroons are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
