Basketball Recap: Leadership Academy Falcons vs. College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals
Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 48-17 loss at the hands of the College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-31 last Tuesday.
Briana Ramirez was Leadership Academy's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Ali Faenza took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
College Prep & Leadership Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Melody Johnson led the charge by going 6-for-11 to rack up 17 points. The dominant performance also gave Johnson a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (71%). Another player making a difference was MacKenzie Dumbuya, who went 5-for-9 en route to 13 points.
