New Albany proved they can win big on Friday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tishomingo County Braves 6-4. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

New Albany has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.69 hits in those games compared to only 5.33 in the others. Tishomingo County's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-9.
