Softball Recap: Lebanon Trail Has No Trouble Against Liberty

Lebanon Trail barely beat Liberty the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went the Lebanon Trail Trail Blazers' way against the Liberty Redhawks on Tuesday as the Lebanon Trail Trail Blazers made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Trail Blazers have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Parker Rodgers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kendall Dreary was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Amelia Suckey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lebanon Trail and bumps their season record up to 4-2-1. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.5 hits in those games compared to only 4.8 in the others. As for Liberty, they dropped their record down to 4-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Lebanon Trail will take on Frisco at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lebanon Trail's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Frisco's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Liberty, they will square off against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
