The Heritage Christian Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Kenosha Bradford Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Heritage Christian has four straight victories, Kenosha Bradford has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Heritage Christian's win against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lancers 4-2.

M. Geibl made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Heritage Christian is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise. Geibl was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, J. Draeger was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
Franklin hit Kenosha Bradford with a nine-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils came up short against the Sabers, falling 15-5.
Kenosha Bradford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Allen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. Logan Swank was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Heritage Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kenosha Bradford, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Heritage Christian might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Kenosha Bradford when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
