Football Recap: Cross County Piles Up the Points Against Izard County

Cross County entered their tilt with Izard County on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Cougars 53-6. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Thunderbirds just coasted through the last quarter.

Cross County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Drake Halk, Ayden Kraft, Elijah Bretherick, and Kolby Walker picked up one apiece.

Despite the loss, Izard County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Benaiah Spray picked up 137 receiving yards and one score.

Cross County's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Izard County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Cross County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-16 defeat against East Poinsett County on the 10th. As for Izard County, they have also already played their next game, a 48-12 loss against McCrory on the 10th.
