Baseball Recap: Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Clarion

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley). Everything went their way against the North Clarion Wolves on Wednesday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. With that win, Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley got a massive performance out of Connor Langdon, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Langdon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Fleming, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for North Clarion, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley will face off against Reynolds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Clarion, they will square off against Youngsville at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
