Basketball Recap: Math & Science College Preparatory Sharks vs. Sotomayor Wolves
Math & Science College Preparatory was the 51-49 winner over Sotomayor when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Math & Science College Preparatory Sharks fell 62-52 to the Sotomayor Wolves on Wednesday. The Sharks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Math & Science College Preparatory had strong showings from Adan Martinez, who posted 22 points, and Sidney Scott, who scored 17 points.
Sotomayor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryan Hernandez led the charge by going 8 of 15 on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Hernandez has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Penaloza, who put up 15 points and five assists.
