Volleyball Recap: Dvdaya Swimmer Key Part of Team Effort in Braves Win + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brevard, Cherokee was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Highlands Highlanders as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won six in a row.

Cherokee was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-9, 25-17.

Cherokee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dvdaya Swimmer out in front who had 19 digs and four aces. Lilly Lossiah was another key player, getting three digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Cherokee was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

The victory got Cherokee back to even at 1-1. As for Highlands, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Cherokee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Andrews on the 18th. As for Highlands, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Hayesville on the 18th.
