Severn School came tearing into Wednesday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the St. Mary's Ryken Knights by a score of 64-54. Given the Admirals' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Knights are ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Severn School's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-21.

Severn School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-54 win against St. Mary's on the 5th. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they will face off against Bishop McNamara at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop McNamara knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 games -- so hopefully St. Mary's Ryken likes a good challenge.
