Softball Recap: Tonopah Takes a Loss

Tonopah lost against Indian Springs on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Muckers came up short against the Thunderbirds, falling 24-17. The Muckers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jacy Kiersch stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyryn Bland-Russell, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Tonopah's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Indian Springs, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-8.

Coincidentally, Tonopah and Indian Springs will both be playing Round Mountain the next time they take the field. The Thunderbirds will head out to face the Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Muckers will host them at 1:00 p.m. on the 29th.
