Basketball Recap: Baboquivari Triumphs

Baboquivari won the last time they faced Santa Rita, and Kara Baptisto did her part to make sure it happened again. The Baboquivari Warriors breezed by the Santa Rita Eagles to the tune of 60-19 on Wednesday thanks in part to Baptisto, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Antone, who posted three points in addition to five rebounds, four steals, and four blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played.

Baboquivari's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Santa Rita, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Baboquivari didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-37 victory against Patagonia on the 17th. As for Santa Rita, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-11 defeat against Benson on the 16th.
