Basketball Recap: Brevard Find Success

Brevard hadn't done well against Hendersonville recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Brevard Blue Devils came out on top against the Hendersonville Bearcats by a score of 65-58. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Bearcats back in January, they had to take a 61-46 loss.

Despite the defeat, Hendersonville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaylon Wynn went 6-for-15 to rack up 18 points and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wynn has scored all season. Mateo Archer was another key player, going 5-for-7 on his way to 10 points and six boards.

The win got Brevard back to even at 10-10. As for Hendersonville, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brevard will take on T.C. Roberson at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brevard will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Hendersonville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats face off against the Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hendersonville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Patton likes a good challenge.
