Softball Recap: West Boylston Takes a Loss

After flying high against Murdock on Wednesday, West Boylston came back down to earth. The Lions fell just short of the Maynard Tigers by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

West Boylston's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for Maynard, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Boylston will take on Gardner at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maynard, they will venture away from home to square off against Tahanto Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
