Taylor is a perfect 10-0 against Mariemont since August of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Yellowjackets will face off against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. The match will give Taylor their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Taylor had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Colerain on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets blew past the Cardinals 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.

Taylor not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Colerain between 17 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 25-19.

Taylor found their leader in sophomore Emma King, who had ten digs and three aces.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Mariemont and Deer Park, and Mariemont kept the tradition alive. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 3-2 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since August 26, 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (103-97) Mariemont actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 14-25, 15-10.

Taylor now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mariemont, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Taylor took their win against Mariemont when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
