League recap: Salinas overpowering for Crowley County in past week

2A Santa Fe league recap: 5/22/13

2A Santa Fe's top pitcher this week was Crowley County's John Salinas. He picked up one win and 17 strikeouts.

Bryce Buhr was on fire this week, as he led the league with a .433 average, one home run and 11 RBIs. The Chargers compiled a record of 0-0 in that time.

Rye's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only six hits and zero walks, both of which led the league.

Crowley County's 48 strikeouts this week were a league-worst, but Fowler has struck out more times (152) than any other team this year.

13 batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Luis Ortiz Jr., who collected two hits in three at bats for a .667 average.



Buhr's 11 RBIs this week were tops in the league. Buhr has 15 RBIs this season, 20th in the league.

Las Animas's Lucas Gallegos threw six shutout innings in an 8-0 win over Custer County on Saturday. He struck out 17, allowing one hit.
