            Baseball Recap: North Brunswick Scorpions vs. Jacksonville Cardinals        
        
		
        
        
            Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only North Brunswick walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past the Jacksonville Cardinals  5-4. Five seems to be a good number for the Scorpions as the  squad scooped up a  win with the same number of  runs in their previous game.

 Dylan Stacks was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He is becoming a predictor of North Brunswick's success: when he allows at  most one  hit the team is 3-1 (and 7-15 when he doesn't). Stacks was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI. Those  three  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 In other pitching news,  Jordan Stegall looked comfortable as he  pitched 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive appearances.
 Back at the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Aydean White, who  went 3-for-4 with two  doubles and one  run. Those  two  doubles gave  him a new career-high.
 North Brunswick  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. They are 4-1 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
North Brunswick pushed their record up to 10-16 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Jacksonville, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 15-11.
