Baseball Recap: Greenfield Starts off Right with Win over Thales Academy Rolesville

Greenfield took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 14-5 margin over Thales Academy Rolesville. That's more bragging rights for Greenfield, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Christopher Tankersley and Simon Quinn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Tankersley pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Quinn tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Tankersley scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Quinn scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Stancil, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Mack Wiggins was another, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Coming up, Greenfield will be playing in front of their home fans against North Raleigh Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, they will venture away from home to take on Faith Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
