            Softball Recap: Richmond Red Devils vs. Knightstown Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            Richmond extended their losing streak  (dating back to last season) to 19  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They lost  17-0 to the Knightstown Panthers. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in May of 2023.
As for Knightstown,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 12-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 For Knightstown's part,  Paysen Hauk was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with six  RBI, three  doubles,  and two  runs. Those  three  doubles gave  Hauk a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mae Hersberger, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and two  doubles.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richmond will welcome Jay County  at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their  eighth straight  win, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Knightstown, they will host New Castle  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
