            Baseball Recap: Bessemer City Yellow Jackets vs. Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            If Bessemer City was feeling good  fresh off their  12-1 takedown of Piedmont Community Charter last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles by a score of  6-4 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  loss the Yellow Jackets have suffered  since March 26, 2024.
  Justin Short put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
Bessemer City has  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record  this season. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, their record now sits at 6-2.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bessemer City will take on Highland Tech at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, they will venture away from home to  challenge Mountain View Christian Academy  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.43  runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
