Volleyball Recap: Ellington's Run of Seven Straight Wins Now Over

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Ellington couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Winona Wildcats on Saturday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Whippets have suffered since September 5th.

Lilyanah Tisdale paced Ellington's offense, picking up ten kills. Tisdale got some help from Tayleigh Cowin and her 26 assists.

The loss snapped Ellington's winning streak at seven matches and leaves them with a 31-5-1 record. As for Winona, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 36-4.

Ellington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winona, after both having extra time off, they and Northland Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
