Basketball Recap: Shakopee Piles Up the Points Against Burnsville

Shakopee won the last time they faced Burnsville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Shakopee Sabers blew past the Burnsville Blaze, posting an 82-53 win. Given the Sabers' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Blaze are ranked 175th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shakopee's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.5 points per game. As for Burnsville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
