Basketball Recap: Hardee Comes Up Short

Hardee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 46-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks.

Despite the defeat, Hardee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Teagan VanSickle posted 17 points. Those 17 points gave VanSickle a new career-high. Victor Rodriguez was another key player, putting up eight points.

Families Instructing Students HomeSchool's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kalvin Kuhnke, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 20 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Noah Howes, who went 9 of 16 en route to 19 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Hardee's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Hardee will head out on the road to challenge Lake Placid at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hardee is facing Lake Placid at the right time seeing as Lake Placid is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-34 defeat against Florida College Academy on the 16th.
