Recap: Evans Knights vs. Glynn Academy Terrors

The Evans Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Glynn Academy at home and fell 54-24. Evans has not had much luck with Glynn Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Evans' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Briyanna Jones, who scored seven points, and Kimariya Hinton who scored three points along with 14 rebounds. Hinton is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Evans struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Glynn Academy racked up 19 assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Glynn Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Martin Davis, who scored eight points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Page, who scored 15 points along with three steals.

Evans has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Glynn Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Evans won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Brunswick at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Brunswick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday. Glynn Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lakeside at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Lakeside is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
