Basketball Game Preview: Greeley Central Wildcats vs. Mountain View Mountain Lions

The Greeley Central Wildcats will head out to take on the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Greeley Central is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Skyline just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 59-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The Wildcats were down 54-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Mountain View came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Grizzlies to the tune of 71-42. 71 seems to be a good number for the Mountain Lions as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Greeley Central better keep an eye on Dylan Garland. He was instrumental in Mountain View's win, going 15 for 22 en route to 38 points and three steals. The game was Garland's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Sanchez, who posted nine points and four steals.

Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Greeley Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Greeley Central strolled past Mountain View in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 by a score of 50-33. Will Greeley Central repeat their success, or does Mountain View have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
