Softball Recap: Pinckneyville Has No Trouble Against Murphysboro

Pinckneyville owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Murphysboro Red Devils. Considering the Panthers have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pinckneyville pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Murphysboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinckneyville will take on Nashville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.67 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Murphysboro, they will face off against Harrisburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
