Baseball Recap: Wakulla Comes Up Short

Wakulla and Escambia squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Wakulla had to settle for second. They fell 5-0 to the Gators. That's two games in a row now that the War Eagles have lost by exactly five runs.

Wakulla saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Estep, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Estep's first of the season.

Wakulla's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Escambia, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 22-5.

While Wakulla had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
