Soccer Recap: Tough Loss for Hanover

Hanover came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but they unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-1 to the Fairfield Knights. While losing is never fun, Hanover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while Fairfield are ranked 252nd).

Hanover's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-0 Littlestown (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 87.6% over those games). As for Fairfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hanover is set to take on their familiar foe Big Spring at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fairfield will challenge their in-conference opponent Shalom Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
