Recap: Albuquerque Bulldogs vs. Santa Fe Demons
On Saturday, the Albuquerque Bulldogs's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 44-39 victory over Santa Fe. Winning may never get old, but Albuquerque sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Albuquerque's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amariah Valles led the charge by scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaiyah Hawley, who scored seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Albuquerque is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Santa Fe, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
Albuquerque on the road again on Tuesday and play against Atrisco Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Atrisco Heritage Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Albuquerque is ranked 24th). As for Santa Fe, Santa Fe and St. Michael's will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Michael's is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games.
