Softball Recap: Northern Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Northern ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Northeast Eagles. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Danielle Sypolt spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brooke MacAulay was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Northern's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Northeast, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.

Northern has already played their next matchup, a 13-1 victory against Patuxent on the 23rd. As for Northeast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-0 win against Annapolis on the 22nd.
