Football Recap: Emmett Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Emmett lost against Bishop Kelly back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The contest between the Huskies and the Knights didn't end well, with the Huskies falling 35-16. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Knights are ranked sixth).

Despite the defeat, Emmett saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Brennan rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Brennan is becoming a predictor of the Huskies' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

Bishop Kelly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Arellano out in front who rushed for 73 yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave Arellano a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Another signal caller making a difference was Ben Avella, who threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

Emmett now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Bishop Kelly, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Knights beat Emmett by a score of 56-14 on Friday.
