Basketball Game Preview: Clay Center Tigers vs. Wamego Red Raiders

The Clay Center Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Wamego Red Raiders on Friday. Clay Center has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

Last Tuesday, Clay Center didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Valley Heights, but they still walked away with a 62-58 victory.

Meanwhile, Wamego waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Panthers, posting a 52-13 win. The Red Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Clay Center is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points over those games. As for Wamego, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Clay Center strolled past Wamego in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 73-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clay Center since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
