Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Athenian). They claimed a resounding 79-32 victory over the Oakland Military Institute Grizzlies. Given the Owls' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 1209th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Teni Salako, who posted 17 points. Sahil Reddy was another key player, putting up nine points.

Athenian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Oakland Military Institute, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Athenian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-51 defeat against Head-Royce on the 24th. Oakland Military Institute has also already played their next contest, a 64-24 win against Summit Tamalpais on the 24th.
