Baseball Recap: Lynnwood Comes Up Short

Lynnwood had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-15 to make it four. They came up short against the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors, falling 13-0. If the Royals were looking for revenge after losing 8-1 to the Warriors when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Edmonds-Woodway, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Edmonds-Woodway's part, the result came thanks to Lukas Wanke's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Erik Alsdorf was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Toshi Gilginas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

While Lynnwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
