Gaylord comes up short despite Luke Gelow's dominant performance

Recap: Gaylord Blue Devils vs. Cadillac Vikings

The Gaylord Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 59-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cadillac. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Gaylord has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Gaylord still got an impressive performance from Luke Gelow, who scored 36 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 76.6% of Gaylord's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Keck, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Gaylord struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Gaylord's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Cadillac, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gaylord will face off against St.Ignace at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in St.Ignace's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Cadillac, they will head out on the road to square off against Big Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Rapids will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Cadillac is ranked 15th).
