Alameda is 8-2 against Castro Valley since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Alameda Hornets will take on the Castro Valley Trojans at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Alameda's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

Alameda is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Berkeley: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Alameda blew Berkeley out of the water with a 73-30 final score. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 401st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Castro Valley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over Antioch on Tuesday. The two-point effort marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Alameda has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Castro Valley, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Alameda didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Castro Valley in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 60-55 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alameda since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
