Volleyball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Riverside unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the South Effingham Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

The 2-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Riverside lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 13-25, 15-12.

Nevaeh Hays paced Riverside's offense, picking up nine kills. Hays got some help from Kaitlyn Haroski and her 19 assists. McKenley Noble controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for South Effingham, they pushed their record up to 31-9 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

Coming up, Riverside will host Wade Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Effingham, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Cartersville on the 27th.
