Softball Recap: Bellaire Starts off Right with Win over the Linsly School

Bellaire had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against The Linsly School Cadets by a score of 10-6. For the Big Reds, this counts as revenge for the 11-3 win the Cadets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Addison Kovach was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Kovach was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bleu Sexton, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Calleigh Holt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

The Linsly School dropped their record down to 2-2 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: The Linsly School beat Bellaire by a score of 8-7 later that day.
