Baseball Recap: Triton Triumphs

The matchup between Triton and Argos on Monday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Trojans never let the Dragons get on the board and left with a 28-0 victory. The Trojans' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three matchups.

Levi McFarland made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blake Ousley, who went a perfect 6-for-6 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Prater, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Triton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 28 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Triton's record now sits at 16-2. As for Argos, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Triton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
