Basketball Game Preview: Leon Cougars vs. Centerville Tigers

Leon hasn't had much luck against Centerville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:45 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Leon came up short against Grapeland and fell 74-64.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Centerville duked it out with Cayuga on Monday. The Tigers were beaten by the Wildcats 64-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since December 4, 2025.

Leon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Centerville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

Leon couldn't quite get it done against Centerville in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 as they fell 60-53. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
