Baseball Recap: Muleshoe's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Muleshoe had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Friona Chieftains on Friday, sneaking past 17-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mules have posted since March 10th.

Jake Villanueva was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Railsback, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Muleshoe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Muleshoe's win bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Friona, they dropped their record down to 4-19 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

As of now, neither Muleshoe nor the Chieftains have any future games scheduled.
