Baseball Game Preview: Campbell-Savona Panthers vs. Avoca Central Tigers

The Campbell-Savona Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Avoca Central Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Campbell-Savona's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four contests, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Campbell-Savona came up short against Hornell and fell 6-2.

Campbell-Savona saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Loveless, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Loveless has brought in this season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Avoca Central finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Naples. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Campbell-Savona's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Avoca Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Campbell-Savona was able to grind out a solid victory over Avoca Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
