Softball Recap: Lexington Tigers vs. Bedford North Lawrence Stars
After flying high against Centennial on Saturday, Lexington came back down to earth. Lexington fell 11-7 to the Bedford North Lawrence Stars on Saturday.
Carly Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 20 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Huskey, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7-1. As for Bedford North Lawrence, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Lexington will square off against Lincoln County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lincoln County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Lexington's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bedford North Lawrence, they will face off against Jasper at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
