Volleyball Recap: Stella Wall and Kenzie Hooker Secure Win for Surry Central

Surry Central won the last time they faced West Stokes and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Wildcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

While Surry Central might've won, it sure wasn't easy: West Stokes scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-27, 25-18, 25-22.

Leading Surry Central to victory were Kenzie Hooker and Stella Wall. Hooker had 14 digs and two aces, while Wall had 18 digs and two aces. Hooker is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Bryleigh Jones was another key player, getting 11 kills and six digs.

They weren't the only good server: Surry Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive contests.

Surry Central's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-4. As for West Stokes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
