Soccer Game Preview: Fredericksburg vs. Brownwood

The Fredericksburg Billies will take on the Brownwood Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Brownwood is facing Fredericksburg at the wrong time: Fredericksburg suffered their first home loss of the season two weeks ago and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 5-4. The loss put an end to the Billies' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Brownwood kept a clean sheet against Alvarado on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 4-0 victory. Considering the Lions have won seven games by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fredericksburg fell to 5-1-2. As for Brownwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Fredericksburg skirted past Brownwood 2-1 in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. Does Fredericksburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brownwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
