Football Preview: Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans vs. Cherokee Trail Cougars
Two dominant backs in Da'Kari Releford Jr and Logan Posey are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans will head out to challenge the Cherokee Trail Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
Fountain-Fort Carson is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 49 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Pine Creek on Friday. They took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Cherokee Trail found their leader in sophomore Owen Newell, who rushed for 130 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Bryson Peterson was another key player, throwing for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
Cherokee Trail's run defense was locked in: Smoky Hill could only muster three yards per carry. The Cougars didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.7.
Cherokee Trail's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Fountain-Fort Carson lost to Cherokee Trail on the road by a decisive 35-17 margin in their previous meeting back in November of 2019. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
